Beacon Award - Philanthropic Impact

Oklahoma Heart Hospital South is the Journal Record's 2015 Beacon Award winner in Philanthropic Impact – large division. The South Campus was nominated for this award by the American Heart Association following fundraising efforts for this year's Heart Walk. The 2015 Beacon Award winners embody the spirit of giving, from donating funds to establish a camp to help grieving children to supporting the fights against heart disease and Alzheimer's.

"People and companies who give of their time and money to nonprofits don't do it for the recognition. That's why the Beacon Awards are so important; it's an opportunity to salute companies who are making a significant difference, allowing and encouraging their employees to become involved in their communities,” said Joni Brooks, president and publisher of The Journal Record. “Together with our partners First Fidelity Bank, Delta Dental, the Masonic Charity Foundation and the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, The Journal Record is proud to shine the light on these companies, and we congratulate them for their leadership, going beyond company profits to pay it forward to very deserving organizations."

Organizations were recognized in large, medium and small divisions for their contributions to the nonprofit community in the categories of philanthropic impact and charitable influence.
