Go Red for Women 2019

Go Red for Women is an annual event encouraging people to wear red to raise awareness of heart disease and its impact on women. Wear Red Day is the first Friday in February every year.

The statistics about heart disease and women are staggering. Heart disease is the number one killer of women and is responsible for one in three deaths of women. Each year, more women die from heart disease than all cancers combined.

Go Red for Women is about raising awareness of cardiovascular disease in order to save lives. Today, we encourage you to wear red and talk to your family, coworkers, and friends about why you’re wearing red. Encourage them to learn more about heart disease and steps they can take to improve their heart health.

At Oklahoma Heart Hospital, we educate and empower patients and families living with heart disease every day. Today, we’ll be wearing red at work and in the community to spread awareness of this important topic and help save women’s lives.

Here are some other ways you can show your support.

Show your red on social media

Grab your coworkers or friends who are wearing red and post a photo on social media to reach even more people with this important message! Use #WearRedandGive and #OKHeart when you post!
